Calling

Rebuilding People and Places

“They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.”
Isaiah 61:4
01

Why Calling Matters

Calling is the movement of Isaiah 61:4 — the moment Jesus invites a formed disciple to step into devastated places and participate in His rebuilding work. Calling matters because it is where inward discipleship becomes outward responsibility. It is where the disciple begins to offer what Jesus has restored within them, bringing renewal to people and places marked by loss. Without Calling, the disciple's walk remains internal. Calling is the moment when healing becomes mission, and revitalization becomes participation.

02

As a Mature Disciple

A mature disciple in Calling carries attentiveness, courage, and renewal. They listen closely to Jesus, respond with faith, and step gently into places that need rebuilding. Their presence brings stability, hope, and clarity. They rebuild not through striving or force, but through obedience, compassion, and the steady companionship of Jesus.

03

Discipling Others

A mature disciple helps others discern Jesus' direction and recognize the assignments He is revealing. They walk with people as they learn to hear His voice, understand His timing, and step into rebuilding work with confidence. Their attentiveness becomes a gift that helps others see where Jesus is leading and how He is inviting them to participate.

Reflect

  • 01Where is Jesus inviting you to rebuild?
  • 02What part of your discipleship is He asking you to offer?
  • 03Who could you walk with as they begin discerning their calling?
