Stage 02 · Isaiah 61:2 · Weeks 9–12

Identity

Favor establishes identity. Comfort restores identity. Justice protects identity.

“To proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn.”
Isaiah 61:2
01

Why Identity Matters

Identity is the movement of Isaiah 61:2 — the moment Jesus proclaims the year of the Lord's favor over a person's life. Identity matters because it is where Jesus replaces false names, false stories, and false patterns with truth. It is the moment when a disciple begins living under God's favor instead of the narratives that once defined them. Without Identity, the disciple cannot carry Inheritance or Calling with stability. Identity is the center of who they are becoming.

02

As a Mature Disciple

A mature disciple in Identity carries stability, clarity, and confidence. They respond from who they are in Christ, not from who they were in pain. Their decisions flow from truth, and their life reflects the favor Jesus has spoken over them. Their identity is no longer fragile; it is rooted, steady, and becoming whole.

03

Discipling Others

A mature disciple helps others discover who they are in Christ. They speak truth into confusion, affirmation into doubt, and clarity into places where identity has been distorted. They gently guide others toward the names God has given them, helping them shed false labels and embrace the identity Jesus is forming.

Reflect

  • 01Where is Jesus proclaiming His favor over your life?
  • 02What identity is He strengthening or restoring in you?
  • 03Who needs help discovering their God-given identity?
